The Live It Earth Series

One of the great things about a Live It Earth program, is that there is no right or wrong way to integrate it into a learning environment. Our programs and resources are designed to be flexible, so they can be used in the classroom or at home.

Here’s a quick overview video:

Eight times a school year, Live It Earth produces an online, interactive program that has cross-curricular activities and challenges for students in Grades K to 8.

Each program includes:

  • A feature show (20 to 35 minutes)

  • A live Q+A with experts in the field via Twitter

  • A comprehensive teacher + student resource collection filled with challenges and activities

A typical program is experienced in a classroom over a two-week+ period. The schedule looks something like this:

First Week

Monday:

  • Teachers receive an email notification that the program resources are ready.

  • Teachers can get familiar with the latest program, and pick and pull resources to explore with their class.

Tuesday through Friday:

  • Print out copies or add the Inquiry Guide to google classroom.

  • Watch the program trailer with the class (introduction to the topic).

  • Explore the slideshow with students. (This may be done as a class activity or per student depending on the age and technology available in the classroom.)

  • Choose from Creative, STEM and Story Challenges to build engagement.

Second Week

Monday:

  • Keep exploring—complete and share challenge(s).

Tuesday:

  • Share your students’ Creative Challenge photos to Twitter using the hashtag #liveitearth.

Wednesday:

  • Gather student questions and schedule them on Twitter for the next day (optional).

Thursday:

  • Feature show Launches at 10am in English & 11am (PT) in French.

Friday:

  • Test your knowledge and skill with our Game Challenge.

  • Explore our Call-to-Action and Live it 360 resources for project-based learning.

Third Week +

  • Continue on with Challenges or Call-to-Action.

  • Have students select a self-assessment option to document their learning.
